Inulin is a natural prebiotic derived from plants (most commonly chicory, agave or topinambour). It is not digested in the stomach, but serves as food for the beneficial intestinal microflora.
Inulin benefits:

How to use inulin:
Add to drinks: 1-2 tsp in tea, coffee, juice or water. Inulin lightly sweetens.

Can be used in place of some of the sugar or flour in recipes.
Recommendations:
Start with small doses (½ tsp per day) to avoid bloating.
